Girish is a fellow member of the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants and a law graduate from Karnataka State Law University. He is also an associate member of the Australian Taxation Institute. Girish holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation practice from M S University, Baroda.
Prior to K R Girish & Associates he was Partner, Tax & Regulatory Services with KPMG and National Head, Tax Dispute Resolution Practice.
Girish has been rated as one of the top tax professionals in the country consistently for the last 4 years by International Tax Review UK.
He has over 32 years of experience in the Tax and regulatory area out of which 18 years as Partner. He also has substantial experience in advising on Transfer Pricing and related issues. Has written over 200 articles on tax and related issues .
He has represented clients before tax authorities at various forums. He regularly appears before the Tax Commissioners and the Tax Tribunal on complex tax issues. Girish specializes in International Tax Law and had handled various matters on Tax Dispute Resolution.
Girish is also a co-founder of ITRAF, Chaired by Dr. Parthasarthi Shome, an independent and exclusive forum for tax policy research, analysis and support conducting research and analysis on important tax matters including those relevant to India. Information about ITRAF can be accessed on itraf.org
